The Madagascar animals join a struggling European circus to get back to New York. They are pursued by a psychotic animal-control officer. On their journey, they discover friendship, love, and the importance of believing in themselves.

A group of zoo animals who have spent their lives in a New York zoo accidentally end up in the jungles of Madagascar. They must learn to adapt to their new wild surroundings while dealing with their own personal struggles. Along the way, they encounter lemurs, face off against predators, and learn the importance of friendship and acceptance.

The movie follows the Madagascar animals as they crash-land in Africa and meet others of their kind. Alex, the lion, discovers his royal heritage as a prince of a lion pride. They face challenges from a scheming lion who wants to be Alpha Lion and must work together to overcome obstacles and find their way back home.
